Sat, 24 July - Sun, 25 July 2021: Writing workshop »Silk Road Dresden«

At different places in Dresden Neustadt we are going to discover special fates inside and outside Dresden. In past and present we will discover stories with a connection to our own life's journey.
Inspired by impressions and stories we will collect ideas and ask: What does it mean to experience great changes through migration, flight and other events as a young person?
We will go for a walk, feel the area with our senses. We will write about turning points in life. We will experience new perspectives, hidden treasures will emerge, unexpected points of view will open up. You are welcome to share your experiences with us! Walk on the Silk Road of Poetry!

Online: Sat, 12 dec 2020: Don‘t believe everything: recognizing conspirary theories

Recently we can hear a lot of conspiracy theories – on demonstrations against measures to combat the coronavirus, on the internet and there are even celebrities like Attila Hildmann and Michael Wendler, who spread them. In times of crisis, like now, people tend to look for simple answers to complex questions – and this is where conspiracy theories start.

In our online-workshop we want to learn to understand trough interactive methods how conspiracy theories work and what makes them so dangerous. We are going to look at the differences between fake news and conspiracy theories. And we focus on how they are linked to inhuman ideologies. Possibilities of exchange and discussions between the participants won‘t miss out.

/home/your-story/Dokumente/VAs 2020/04 Tellyourtruth

We invite young people, who have experienced migration or flight, but also those who don't to a workshop with the author, poet and trainer Sarah Rehm. Writing helps people in difficult situations and times. We will read amazing texts from authors, who have been persecuted by National Socialists: they’ve been heroes!

If anyone hates us because of our history, then he or she doesn’t know us. We share our experiences and raise our voice. The workshop gives us courage and ideas. With exercises of creative writing, we explore our story as heroes and write poems, history, songs or rap. We create magic with words, are part of this world and tell our story.

Do you fancy a search for clues in Saxon Switzerland? On a little hike we want to illuminate a part of German and Saxon history.
